Communicating with Legislators
Being a constituent, you have a responsibility to participate in the legislative process. Legislators need to know your position on issues that you deem critical. Listed below are tips that will be helpful in communicating with members of the Onondaga County Legislative Delegation:

• Establish a relationship with your representatives before you need to contact them.
• Be brief and concise.
• Write in your own words.
• Be respectful and never threaten.
• Faxes are especially effective because faxes are easily sorted by issue and position.
